We'll Do It Live Fridays: Digitally Veiled
We apologize for being fairly inactive as of late. The reasons for this will come to light very very soon. But until then, how about another WDILF Post?! I was planning on throwing this up last week but got too lazy. This may have been a blessing in disguise, however, since this clip will be a good follow up to another music video that just emerged a couple days ago.

New Music Videos - The Dillinger Escape Plan + The Human Abstract
You don't need any approval other than Chuck's.
I feel like music videos as a whole have fallen by the way side as an artform. However, that's not to say that I don't still enjoy the hell out of them. This week saw the release of two music videos, in particular, from bands that are no strangers of our posts here at Brutalitopia. I speak of none other than The Dillinger Escape Plan and The Human Abstract.
Both these vids are really cool in there own unique ways. Dillinger's vid of "Gold Teeth On A Bum" has some pretty awesome mixing of live audio incorporated into it. The actual footage being of a live concert doesn't hurt either. The Human Abstract's new vid of "Patterns" also made me raise the horns after watching. With this new one they use a similar formula to what they did with "Digital Veil." It's just straight up in your face playing. I love it.

Exclusive Interview: The Human Abstract
It was with great pleasure that we finally got to meet the guys from The Human Abstract this past Wednesday when they were playing in Bloomington, IL. They're all really great guys and sure know how to have some fun. Their show was also amazing, as Jack will surely note in his upcoming concert review that he'll be posting very soon. For our interview we got to chat with their guitarist and alum of Brutalitopia, A.J. Minette. Be sure to stay posted with these guys. They should be announcing something big very soon that they let us know of. But our lips are sealed for now.

Review: The Human Abstract - Digital Veil
At long last, we get to see why 2011 is going to be an amazing year for metal, particularly prog. There's no more teasers or singles to be released. The veil has been lifted. Digital Veil, the third release from LA's rejuvenated prog metallers in The Human Abstract, is upon us.

Pull Me From The Gallows (of being late)

"You're late, Brutalitopia." As punishment, you must continue to stare at my fancy watch.
So I'm definitely behind everybody else in reporting this, but I can't not post this stuff. It's just too awesome.
Check out the two bits of news I actually cared about this week after the break.

Bands for the Atticus Metal Tour III Confirmed
Born of Osiris and Darkest Hour have been confirmed as the headliners on this years installment of the Atticus Metal Tour. Aside from making shoes that are pretty dope, Atticus is gradually upping their game with their annual traveling circus. Darkest Hour shredded on a handful of dates during last year's tour, but will be on for each of the 30 or so dates (exact gigs have yet to be announced) likely performing various tracks off their upcoming release The Human Romance. Supporting acts on the tour include As Blood Runs Black, Sleeping Giant and friends of the 'Topia, The Human Abstract.
More details to come via the tour's Facebook page. Get stoked.

New Song From The Human Abstract! It's About Time They Stopped Teasing
As soon as they just released their second teaser for their new album this last Friday, The Human Abstract just today released a full legth track from their upcoming album, "Digital Veil." This track, entitled "Faust," is utterly amazing. This album is going to be so huge if the other songs are of great of quality as this one is. Travis Richter makes an unbelievably impressive peformance with his first released track with THA. He definitely gives the band a heavier edge vocally than previously known from Nathan Ells, but the musicianship that everybody came to love from Nocturne is still present and actually improved in many respects. The track is available for purchase from itunes and other digital outlets so definitely pick it up. It's more than worth the buy!

Yet Another Abstract Teaser
One of the biggest reasons that I'm looking forward to 2011 (besides making my top 10 best albums of 2010 list of course) is to hear the 3rd full length effort from The Human Abstract, "Digital Veil." We won't have to wait long either, as the album is set to release on January 25. I've been keeping watch over the band's facebook page rather obsessively lately since they have been hinting at yet another sample of the new tunes. Above is that new sampler which was just released this past Friday. Awesomeness was one of the first words that came to mind after watching it.

Abstract Teaser
Everybody.....The Human Abstract is back and I couldn't be any happier. The group's facebook page had been alluding all week to a huge announcement they were going to make today. Since Jack and I had had an interview with A.J. Minette back in late June (which can be heard here http://brutalitopiainterviews.mypodcast.com/) discussing about the band's new direction, I had a strong feeling that this "announcement" would be about the new record they are currently working on. I wasn't disappointed to say the least.
