We'll Do It Live Fridays: Digitally Veiled

We apologize for being fairly inactive as of late.  The reasons for this will come to light very very soon.  But until then, how about another WDILF Post?!  I was planning on throwing this up last week but got too lazy.  This may have been a blessing in disguise, however, since this clip will be a good follow up to another music video that just emerged a couple days ago.

Music Video Mania: Lamb Of God and Alcest

Per usual, I'm not the first to post news about this but it's without question worth posting up on the internet again (credit for seeing this goes out to the good dudes at Heavy Blog Is Heavy and Decibel).  What we have here is more music video mania from the past week from two bands that continually show that they kick major ass.

First up, we have Lamb Of God and my god does their new track seriously own.  The official music/lyric video was released earlier this week and can be seen below.  This track, entitled Ghost Walking, comes off of their upcoming album Resolution which is slated for a January 24th release date.



Next up, we have some other brand new material from French black/shoegaze/atmospheric/whatever else they're categorized as (seriously guys, metal categorization is getting a tad bit ridiculous) these days metallers, Alcest.  Coming off of their triumphant 2010 release of Ecailles De Lune, it seems that Alcest shows no signs of slowing down just yet.  They also have released a new track, entitled Autre Temps, which comes off of their upcoming release of Les Voyages De L’Âme which is set to be released on January 6th.  Below is the official music video which came out around a week or so ago.  Decibel has a full version of the song (the music video cuts off a little bit of the beginning) which can be found here. 



2011 will be insanely hard to outdo but releases from these two bands in January will surely give 2012 a solid start.

New Music Videos From Dream Theater and Textures

Being that September is prog overload month, it seems only fitting that both Dream Theater and Textures would release new music videos.  Dream Theater released a video for the track "On The Backs Of Angels" from their brand new record, A Dramatic Turn Of Events.  Textures released a video for the track "Reaching Home" from their upcoming record, Dualism.  Dualism will be released on September 27.  There's not much I have to say here because it should go without saying that both these videos are awesome.

Music Video Mania - New Videos From Chimaira and Darkest Hour

Whether or not you believe that the artform of the music video is a dying one doesn't change the fact that nothing beats a good music video.  And today, I present you with two pretty solid ones.

We'll first start off with some brand new Chimaira that came out yesterday.  This is the third song I've heard off of their upcoming album, The Age Of Hell, and let me just say that Chimaira has always been a band that never disappoints. This new track, Year Of The Snake, is no exception either.  Be sure to check out The Age Of Hell when it comes out on 8/16 via eOne records.

Up next, we got a new video from Darkest Hour.  Who could object to that?!  The video features the track Love As A Weapon from their most recent release of The Human Romance.  It certainly is not up to par with Undoing Ruin but that's not to say that the album isn't great.  I mean c'mon, it's Darkest Hour.  Much like Chimaira, you can really never go wrong with some Darkest Hour.  Enjoy.

New In Flames Music Video? Ok, I'll Bite.

As shown above, In Flames has released a music video for their first single off of their new upcoming album, Sounds Of A Playground Fading.  This track, entitled "Deliver Us," is actually pretty enjoyable.  The music video is nothing special, unless you have an affinity for ferris wheels and fireworks, but at least it's a solid song.  It was, and still is, hard to tell what kind of direction In Flames is going to take after their sub-par performance on A Sense Of Purpose.  But if this track is a good indication of the direction they will take, definitely count me as interested.

New Music Videos - The Dillinger Escape Plan + The Human Abstract

I feel like music videos as a whole have fallen by the way side as an artform.  However, that's not to say that I don't still enjoy the hell out of them.  This week saw the release of two music videos, in particular, from bands that are no strangers of our posts here at Brutalitopia.  I speak of none other than The Dillinger Escape Plan and The Human Abstract. 

Both these vids are really cool in there own unique ways.  Dillinger's vid of "Gold Teeth On A Bum" has some pretty awesome mixing of live audio incorporated into it.  The actual footage being of a live concert doesn't hurt either.  The Human Abstract's new vid of "Patterns" also made me raise the horns after watching.  With this new one they use a similar formula to what they did with "Digital Veil."  It's just straight up in your face playing.  I love it.

Darkest Hour Savors The Kill (In Music Video Form This Time)

It's official that Darkest Hour are indeed savoring the kill (i'll be signing autographs later for that one). Being the first track from their upcoming February 22 release of The Human Romance that they officially released, they have now also released a music video for it.  Let me just say that it's worth every second of watching.  You can find the video here at artistdirect.
