2015 will be a year for the record books in the Campagna household. Why the New York Mets made it to the World Series, I bought a house, and of course my wife and I welcomed out little boy Connor into the world. Aside from those wonderful feats, there was metal to be had in 2015 and it was a damned fine year with so many huge bands putting out great records; listing them is a chore unto itself, but ultimately no one pays me for this so this list is what you make of it honestly. Make sure to check out the albums I did a full review for by clicking the link in the album title and also listen to a selection from each album by clicking the song below each write up.

Another year has come and gone and I am more than happy to share my 5th list as I have done one from 2009 and on. Blogging for all of these years only makes year ends lists harder to complete. Not that they are cumbersome yet, you want your voice to be heard and well. Let's face it, everybody and their mom likes a good list.

Satan - Life Sentence

Satan, as a band of the original wave of NWOBHM, were never all that well known of a band; unless you researched that era thoroughly and managed to find yourself a copy of their 1983 classic Court In The Act. You would soon find out that this band was much less about satanism as it was about judgement of mankind and the choices made to end up in the annals of Hell. This is characterized by their use of a beskulled judge complete with old-timey wig in tow. So with the band's first album since 1987, we have arrived in 2013 with their latest entry Life Sentence.

Fear Of Tomorrow: Satan - Court In The Act

Welcome all to my column here at Brutalitopia; one that examines the roots of heavy metal and many bands that predate the ones of today with many different albums being covered and the roots of many a band being unveiled. The first edition of this column is dedicated to NWOBHM band Satan and their 1983 debut Court In The Act. This band had only released 2 albums prior to this year but has recently made some waves with their newest album Life Sentence; a brand new LP chock full of what made and still makes Satan a viable member of this heavy metal community. Let's have a listen and see why.
