Torrent-Free Tuesdays: July 23rd, 2013

Back in the days before the internet and album leaks, if you wanted to hear music you had to wait for its release day, at which point you went to your local Best Buy or another record store to pick up a cd or record.  In celebration of this physical media, Brutalitopia will be bringing you a weekly look at what's coming out each Tuesday, with notes about some of the more notable releases (Editor's Note: "Notable" is completely subjective and can and will mean whatever Durf wants it to mean on a week to week basis).  Find out what's happening this week after the jump.

First off, my apologies for the extended absence of both myself and this feature from the Top; I'd tell you the truth about how my job has been crazy, but you don't care and it's more fun to just believe I'm an asshole.  But I'm back now, and we have records to discuss.

Baroness - Live at Maida Vale.  Technically this one has been out since the 19th, but since I'm only concerned with Tuesdays, we'll talk about it now.  Baroness is crazy good live, and this is a Live EP, so you should want it.  The track list is 100% from their latest album Yellow & Green, which seems like it could be a bummer at first, until you learn that the songs are "Take My Bones Away," "March to the Sea," "Cocanium," and "The Line Between," at which point you're ok that you're not getting "Isak" or "Rays on Pinion."  Besides, you can find those on YouTube anytime.  This is definitely on my "Must Buy Soon" list.

Black Tusk - Tend No Wounds.  Haven't given this one a listen yet, but everything Black Tusk does is usually worth your time.  This is another EP, so even if you hate it, it's not like it'll take you a whole afternoon to try it out.

Karnivool - Asymmetry.  I'd never heard of this band until recently, but Tom from Ghosts at Sea (who's debut I highly enjoyed) posted that this one was great, so I'll definitely be checking it out.

Everything else that comes out today (or thereabouts):

Powerwolf - Preachers of the Night
Stormzone - Three Kings
American Head Charge - Shoot
Counterparts - The Difference Between Hell and Home
Misery Signals - Absent Light

- Durf
