Visigoth - Conqueror's Oath

Salt Lake City's Visigoth hit the metal scene hard with their debut The Revenant King back in 2015. It was chock full of love for bands that deem themselves epic in the scale of their music, whether it be Cirith Ungol, Brocas Helm, Slough Feg, and even a cover of Manilla Road's 'Necropolis' to boot, the only track to clock in under the 5 minute mark. 2018 sees the band back with a renowned fervor with Conqueror's Oath. How does the sophomore album set up for the band?

Revocation - Great Is Our Sin

When it comes to advanced technicality, Revocation are certainly one of the most popular bands that comes to mind. There have been mostly highs and a few lows in the band's catalog, with one particular low being their self-titled release three years ago. With Deathless only a year later, hope was restored to the band's faithful following; a technical album with hooks and some super album art to boot. Great Is Our Sin was then given to us 2 years later and it is primed to be Revocation's magnum opus, but is it really?

Hammers of Misfortune - Dead Revolution

Hammers of Misfortune continue to tow the line for so many great metal bands; Slough Feg's affinity for all things Celtic, the keyboards of ELP and Yes, and the absolute storm of guitar work which pays homage to Queen's Brian May's harmonics, then puts them over the top. It has been 5 years since their spectacular 17th Street was released and not a moment too soon. Dead Revolution continues where the band left off; making music for everyone in the rock spectrum, that just so happens to be metal. The band has been busy with many side projects such as Vhol and Vastum as well as adding a new bassist and a drummer in the interim. So how does this all shake out into one package?

Yet Another Reason To Love 2011: New BTBAM EP Full Stream!

As if there hasn't been enough awesome material to listen to thus far, 2011 has outdone itself again.  Between The Buried And Me's upcoming ep, The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues, is now streaming in its entirety at Metalsucks.  I shouldn't have to say anymore.  You know what to do.  Get to it!  The new ep is set to drop via Metal Blade on April 12.

BTBAM And Metal Blade - Finally Is Right

So I was greeted this morning with the third installment (which now justifies it as a trilogy in my eyes) of Between the Buried and Me's "Soon" series.  This third one is without a doubt the most useless of them all.  BTBAM fully acknowledged this by saying on their facebook, "Man you folks are really gonna hate us now."
