Music Video Mania: December 4, 2013

We got two brand new videos for your viewing pleasures after the break.

Starting off this edition of Music Video Mania is some material that's hot off the presses from French black metal shoegaze act Alcest. The first single off of Shelter, the band's upcoming album set to release in January, is entitled "Opale" and can be viewed/heard below. While I'm one that would always be super excited at the prospect of a new Alcest album, I must say this tune falls a little flat on my ears. This isn't to say that I dislike the track...it seems to pale in comparison to anything the band's previous two albums had to offer. Perhaps I'm holding them to too high of a standard. Regardless, I still am optimistic about the upcoming album.

The video rounding out this post comes from the Los Angeles progressive metallers in Intronaut. The track, "Harmonicon," comes from the band's latest album, Habitual Levitaitons (Instilling Words With Tones), that was released earlier this spring. I don't have much more to say than this is solid stuff from an always solid band. Unsurprisingly, the video does a great job of visualizing the stoner vibe of the music.
